The car is completely stripped ready for chemical dipping to remove all paint & body schutz. The car is then placed on to one of our chassis jigs.
The fuel tank support panel is one of the common rust areas in air cooled 911's. This is one of the better ones.
The inside was treated with rust preventer and re-welded back together to last another 40 years.
Many of the cars we work on have previous poor accident repairs that need to be put right on our chassis jig.
Once the rusty sill is cut away we install new heater mufflers before the two new outer sill layers are welded in.
The jig also allows up to position the repair panels perfectly before they are welded in place
While the body work is under way, the cars mechanicals are also receiving our attention. Gearbox stripped & assessed for rebuild.
